TIG AC Welding
A welding process using alternating polarity specifically applied for aluminum and magnesium alloys. The negative half-wave breaks down the oxide layer, while the positive half-wave cools the tungsten electrode.
When TIG welding aluminum, use AC. One half-wave removes oxide from the surface, the other keeps the tungsten electrode cool and protects it from overheating. Without AC, the oxide layer won't break cleanly, and you get a dirty weld with lack of fusion. Keep the electrode sharp and the surface clean, then it'll go fine.
