Eddy Current Differential Coil Circuit Topology

Eddy current differential coil circuit topology suppresses homogeneous material properties by connecting two identical coils in opposition, which highlights local inhomogeneities in the signal.

Physicochemical Mechanism of Action

Two identical coils are arranged so their eddy currents cancel each other out. This highlights local deviations or inhomogeneities in the magnetic field.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

This topology is used in welding to minimize magnetic interference and improve the accuracy of NDT (non-destructive testing) methods. Wrong setup or missing calibration can lead to inaccurate results.

Shop Practice & Step-by-Step Instructions

Make sure the coils are identical and properly arranged. Calibrate the system regularly, based on the manufacturer's date or as needed. Use this topology only for specific applications like checking weld quality.
