Eddy current frequency multiplex analysis

Eddy current frequency multiplex analysis is an electromagnetic measurement method in which test alternating currents of different frequencies are fed in simultaneously. This allows simultaneous determination of material properties at different penetration depths.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action

Eddy current frequency multiplex analysis uses electromagnetic fields to inspect materials. Test currents of various frequencies are applied simultaneously, allowing different penetration depths in the sample to be analyzed.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

This analysis is especially important for checking weld quality and material changes. Incorrect frequency or intensity can provide incomplete information, which can lead to misunderstandings. It is crucial to make proper settings to get reliable results.

Workshop Practice & Procedures

To perform eddy current frequency multiplex analysis successfully, follow these steps:

1. Set up the device: Use the specified frequencies and intensities.

2. Prepare the sample: Make sure the sample is clean and free of surface defects.

3. Perform the measurement: Apply the injected currents to the sample and record the results.

4. Evaluate: Analyze the data to determine material properties at different penetration depths.
