Shielded Eddy Current Probe

An electromagnetic measurement probe with magnetic shielding for field focusing to minimize edge interference effects during surface testing. It increases spatial resolution for complex component geometries.

The shielding on the eddy current probe keeps external magnetic fields away from you, which would otherwise falsify the measurement. If it doesn't sit properly, you get false readings and interpret defects into the component that aren't there – or you overlook real problems. Place the probe cleanly and calmly, and make sure no strong magnetic sources like overhead cranes or other testing equipment are operating nearby. When setting the test intensity, stick to the specifications for the material, then you'll get a reliable result.
