Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing

A welding-based additive manufacturing process utilizing welding wire as feedstock and an electric arc as the heat source to fabricate large metal structures at high deposition rates.

In manual arc welding, you melt the wire with the arc and deposit it as weld metal onto the part. You have to control the heat input and cooling rate – if you cool too fast, you get cracks; too slow, the structure becomes coarse and tough. Adjust the current and travel speed to the material and check the weld, then it'll be fine.
