Ceriated tungsten electrode
A thoria-free GTAW electrode featuring improved ignition properties and long service life at low to medium current ranges due to the addition of cerium oxide. It is excellently suited for both DC and AC welding.
The cerium electrode is basically the successor to the old thoriated electrode. It starts well and runs clean, especially at low currents. If you use it for DC welding, you need to sharpen the tip to a point; for AC, you round it off more. Watch out that it doesn't overheat, or it will burn up quickly. For fine work on stainless steel, it's a good choice.
