Tungsten inert gas filler rod
An uncoated rod for manual TIG welding, whose composition is specifically matched to the metal being joined.
Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action
The TIG filler rod contains tungsten and other chemical additives that react in the weld zone. These reactions promote melting processes and improve weld quality.
Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks
A faulty TIG filler rod can lead to insufficient melting, porosity, or uneven stress states. This increases the risk of cracking and reduces weld strength.
Workshop Practice & Instructions
Use the TIG filler rod only with the specific metal it was designed for. Make sure the rod is used correctly and that welding parameters (temperature, time) are followed. Flawless application extends the service life and reliability of the weld joint.
