Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW / TIG)

An arc welding process using a non-consumable tungsten electrode and inert gas shielding, delivering high-quality, precise weld seams.

TIG welding uses a tungsten electrode that does not melt. The shielding gas (argon or helium) keeps air away from the molten pool so the weld doesn't oxidize. You can guide the arc very precisely, giving clean, low-porosity welds. Make sure the electrode is clean and properly ground, and enough gas flows. If you have too little shielding gas or the electrode is dirty, the weld pulls in impurities and becomes brittle. For thin sheets and high-quality work, this process is the first choice, but you have to work calmly and controlled.
