Tungsten Carbide Dispersion

Incorporation of hard tungsten carbides into a tough matrix to extremely increase wear resistance under abrasive operating conditions.

Tungsten carbide dispersion means: hard WC particles are embedded in a tougher matrix. The particles make the material wear-resistant, but the whole thing is tricky when welding. If you apply too much heat, the matrix can transform or you get cracks. So you have to keep the heat input low and cool slowly after welding, otherwise the structure becomes brittle. In short: work cleanly and controlled, then the part will hold.
