Tungsten-lanthanum oxide electrode

Tungsten-lanthanum oxide electrode: An electrode with high ignition capability and long life, ideal for DC and AC welding. It is radiation-free and contains no thorium.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action

The tungsten-lanthanum oxide electrode consists of a ceramic core made of tungsten and lanthanum oxide. The lanthanum addition improves the ignition capability and thermal stability of the electrode.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

This electrode prevents the introduction of harmful substances like thorium, which provides better air quality in the work area. It is particularly useful for welding heavy metals and in environments with high humidity.

Workshop Practice & Instructions

Use tungsten-lanthanum oxide electrodes for DC and AC welding, especially for heavier metals. Ensure the electrode is kept dry and cleaned regularly to extend its service life.
