Forced Ventilation in Confined Vessels
Forced ventilation in closed containers ensures a constant air supply and removal of contaminants during welding. It prevents oxygen deficiency and poisoning.
Physikalisch-chemischer Wirkmechanismus
Mechanical ventilation continuously removes air from enclosed spaces and supplies fresh air at the same time. This prevents the buildup of harmful substances like carbon monoxide or nitrogen dioxide and ensures a constant supply of oxygen.
Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks
Without mechanical ventilation, oxygen deficiency can cause hot cracks, because the steel becomes less hard. Additionally, toxic gases can endanger the worker's health. Correct air supply is therefore crucial for a safe and high-quality weld.
Werkstattpraxis & Handlungsanweisungen
Use fans with a flow rate of at least 10 m³/h per person in the enclosed space. Make sure the air supply and exhaust are set up correctly and checked regularly. Keep the oxygen level between 19.5% and 23.5%.
