EN-GJS-400-15 (GGG-40)

0.7040 (EN-GJS-400-15 (GGG-40)) is ductile [[glossary:kugelgraphit|iron]] ([[element:C|spheroidal graphite]]): tough and strong like some steel because the [[glossary:kugeln|carbon]] is present as nodules. Welding is possible, but [[glossary:vorwaermen|preheating]] is required. Typical analysis: 3.65 % C, 0.25 % Mn, 2.5 % Si.
