21MnCr5

1.2162 (21MnCr5) is a low-alloy [[glossary:kaltarbeitsstahl|tool steel]] with 0.21 % [[element:C|carbon]], [[element:Mn|manganese]] and [[element:Cr|chromium]] — basically a [[glossary:einsatzstahl|carburizing steel]] with tool characteristics. It's carburized and hardened: a hard, wear-resistant case with a tough core. Uses: tools that are hardened in service, gears, guide rails.
