1.2210

115CrV3

1.2210 (115CrV3) is an oil-hardening [[glossary:kaltarbeitsstahl|cold work tool steel]] with 1.15 % [[element:C|carbon]], [[element:Cr|chromium]], and [[element:V|vanadium]]. The vanadium binds finely dispersed [[glossary:karbid|carbides]] and keeps the grain small during [[glossary:haerten|hardening]] — resulting in tougher, finer-grained cutting edges than plain carbon steels. Use: woodworking tools, cutting knives, stamping dies, where fine edges and good edge retention are needed.
