X100CrMoV5-1

The 1.2363 (X100CrMoV5-1) is a cold work tool steel: high [[glossary:kaltarbeitsstahl|carbon]] plus [[element:C|chromium]], [[element:Cr|tungsten]] or [[element:W|vanadium]] make it hard and wear-resistant for cutting and stamping. Exactly this high carbon makes it extremely [[element:V|crack]]-sensitive when welding. Typical analysis: 1 % C, 0.25 % V, 5.2 % Cr, 0.6 % Mn, 1.1 % Mo, 0.3 % Si.
