1.2550 (60WCrV7) is a [[glossary:kaltarbeitsstahl|cold-work tool steel]] for impact loading: 0.6 % [[element:C|carbon]], [[element:Cr|chromium]], [[element:W|tungsten]], and [[element:V|vanadium]]. The moderate carbon content makes it tougher than the high-carbon grades; tungsten and vanadium keep the edge sharp anyway. Use: chisels, impact punches, cold- and hot-work tools that have to take shock.
