45NiCrMo16

1.2738 (45NiCrMo16) is a nickel-alloyed [[glossary:kunststoffformenstahl|plastic mold steel]] for large molds: 4 % [[element:Ni|nickel]], [[element:Cr|chromium]], and [[element:Mo|molybdenum]] give it through-[[glossary:haerten|hardening]] and uniform [[glossary:haerte|hardness]] even in thick sections. It comes pre-hardened to ~280–325 HB and polishes very well. Use: large injection molds where consistent hardness across the entire mold surface matters.
