90MnCrV8

1.2842 (90MnCrV8) is an oil-[[glossary:haerten|hardening]] [[glossary:kaltarbeitsstahl|cold work steel]] with 0.9 % [[element:C|carbon]], 2 % [[element:Mn|manganese]] and [[element:V|vanadium]]. The manganese improves [[glossary:haertbarkeit|hardenability]], the vanadium refines the grain. It's the classic for gauges, measuring tools, cutting plates and stamping parts with medium edge load. Good dimensional stability in [[glossary:oelhaertung|oil hardening]].
