1.3395

PM M4

1.3395 (PM M4) is a [[glossary:pulvermetallurgie|powder-metallurgically]] produced [[glossary:schnellarbeitsstahl|high-speed steel]]. The powder atomization makes the [[glossary:karbid|carbides]] extremely fine and evenly distributed — no [[glossary:seigerung|segregation]], no carbide stringers like in conventional HSS. This gives higher [[glossary:zaehigkeit|toughness]] at the same [[glossary:haerte|hardness]]. Applications: high-performance tools, punches, cutters for difficult-to-machine materials.
