1.4000

X6Cr13

1.4000 (X6Cr13) is a ferritic, stainless [[element:Cr|chromium]] steel without [[element:Ni|nickel]] — magnetic, cheap, and resistant in mild environments. When welding, its grain in the [[glossary:waermeeinflusstaue|heat-affected zone]] coarsens irreversibly: the zone becomes brittle and loses [[glossary:korrosion|corrosion]] resistance. Typical analysis: 0.05 % C, 12.5 % Cr, 0.5 % Mn, 0.5 % Si.
