X17CrNi16-2

The 1.4057 (X17CrNi16-2) is a martensitic [[element:Cr|chromium]] steel: hardenable, magnetic, and with medium [[glossary:korrosion|corrosion]] resistance — more of a knife and turbine material than "stainless steel for outdoors." Its high [[element:C|carbon]] makes it [[glossary:risse|crack]]-prone when welding. Typical analysis: 0.17 % C, 16 % Cr, 0.6 % Mn, 2 % Ni, 0.5 % Si.
