1.4310
X10CrNi18-8
The 1.4310 (X10CrNi18-8 (spring steel)) is an austenitic, stainless [[element:Cr|chromium]]-[[element:Ni|nickel]] steel — non-magnetic, tough all the way through, and generally easy to weld. The [[element:Mo|molybdenum]]-containing grades (like 1.4404 or 1.4571) also resist chlorides better. Known weak points when welding: strong thermal expansion ([[glossary:verzug|distortion]]), tendency to [[glossary:heissriss|hot cracking]], and the risk of [[glossary:chromverarmung|chromium depletion]] in the [[glossary:waermeeinflusszone|heat-affected zone]]. Typical analysis: 0.1 % C, 17.5 % Cr, 1.2 % Mn, 0.3 % Mo, 7.5 % Ni, 1 % Si.
