1.8931

S690QL1

The 1.8931 (S690QL1) is a high-strength, quenched and tempered fine-grain structural steel: [[glossary:streckgrenze|yield strengths]] around 690–960 MPa with still good [[glossary:schweissbarkeit|weldability]] — provided you handle the heat discipline. Typical analysis: 0.16 % C, 0.08 % V, 0.3 % Cr, 1.5 % Mn, 0.2 % Mo, 0.5 % Ni, 0.4 % Si. For higher [[glossary:verschleissschutz|wear protection]], three hard-facing options are available: S Fe 1 (martensitic, approx. 300–400 HB, machinable), S Fe 2 (wear-resistant and tough, approx. 50–55 HRC, conditionally machinable) and S Fe 15 ([[glossary:karbid|carbide]]-rich, approx. 55–65+ HRC, not machinable).
