L415NB

The 1.8972 (L415NB) is a line pipe steel for pipelines: tough, easy to weld, and with guaranteed strength and [[glossary:zaehigkeit|toughness]] values over the entire wall thickness. Typical analysis: 0.18 % C, 0.08 % V, 0.6 % Cr, 1.5 % Mn, 0.5 % Mo, 1.5 % Ni, 0.4 % Si. For higher [[glossary:verschleissschutz|wear protection]], three hard-facing options are available: S Fe 1 (martensitic, approx. 300–400 HB, machinable), S Fe 2 (wear-resistant and tough, approx. 50–55 HRC, conditionally machinable) and S Fe 15 ([[glossary:karbid|carbide]]-rich, approx. 55–65+ HRC, not machinable).
