Site & Outdoor Work
Why we're cautious here — and where to turn
AI generated Steel beams in the wind, load-bearing connections, responsibility for human lives: on the job site, it's about more than a clean weld. Here we honestly explain what we cover — and where our chain of information ends.
On the job site, you're not welding just any workpiece — you're welding components that people's lives depend on. A steel beam, a stair structure, an outdoor connection: if that weld fails, it's not scrap, it's an accident.
That's why we're honest with you here: an app can't give you a welding procedure for load-bearing components, and it shouldn't. That's not our failure, that's where real responsibility begins. For load-bearing welded joints, mandatory standards apply, and the decision isn't made by a computer but by a certified person.
What we can still give you is orientation. The key standards for steel construction are DIN EN 1090 (execution of steel structures), plus DIN EN ISO 9606 for welder qualification and DIN EN ISO 15614 for procedure qualification. Anyone welding on the job site needs these qualifications — it's not paperwork, it's proof that the weld will hold.
And if you're unsure whether a component is load-bearing: ask. When in doubt, every component in construction is load-bearing until proven otherwise.
